The former facility shares a long history with the Hattiesburg community, supporting jobs, the local economy, and nearby neighborhoods – and that shared history continues to guide our community involvement today.
Meet the Team
Project Partners Roles and Responsibilities:
The Hercules-Arcadis-Tatum team, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), and the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) are working together alongside the City of Hattiesburg to ensure the safe and efficient cleanup of the former facility. Hercules meets regularly with the USEPA, MDEQ, and technical advisors to coordinate efforts, avoid overlap, and share updates on the site work.




Hercules is the current owner and is actively working to conduct environmental activities at the site.
USEPA is the lead regulator for environmental activities and is also responsible for leading community involvement activities.
MDEQ is the state regulator for environmental activities.
Arcadis is the supervising contractor for environmental activities.
Gloria Tatum of Tatum & Associates Environmental Consultants, LLC is the Hercules Community Involvement Coordinator for the site.
The City of Hattiesburg provides drinking water and other city services for the area, and works with project partners on local matters and environmental activities, when needed.
